Oncotarget is an open access and multidisciplinary review medical journal that covers research on all kinds on oncology. The journal reviews oncology weekly and gives reports thus helping different authors to increase their impact on the research. Oncotarget was established seven years in 2010 and has since then been published by impact journals. The chief journal editors are Mikhail Blagosklonny, and Andrei Gudkov and most of the editing is done at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Mikhail Blagosklonny, professor of oncology and a scientist, mainly studies cancer at Roswell Institute in New York. With his educational achievements of Master’s degree and Ph.D. from the First Pavlov State Medical University of St.Petersburg, he has worked for various institutions gaining a handful of experience in oncology. Other than Oncotarget, Mikhail Blagosklonny is also an editor in chief of the Aging and Cell Cycle journals.

The journal is published online every week and allows printing of special papers on demand. The Oncotarget primary objective is to make scientific results widely available on the internet and to aid in research of more detailed reports as well as to allow unique information being discovered to be circulated on a weekly basis. It also assists to eliminate the resistance that exists between specialties and to link the different scientists who are committed to fighting cancer.
